EASTLEIGH FC
Price: £1.50 (6)
Portion: Fair (6)
Condiments: A better than usual range of freebies, I had sweet chilli (7)
Crispness: Above average (8)
A pretty solid effort from Eastleigh. Could have done with having a few more chips or lowering the price a tad, but apart from that pretty much as good as you could expect from down South

CANVEY ISLAND
Price: £1.50 (6)
Portion size: Average (7)
Range of condiments: Basics (6)
Crispness: One of the better ones (9)
Total: 28
Free entry for non league day at Canvey Island, so I bought 2 portions with the money saved. Both well cooked, could do with a few extra chips in the portions and a wider range of sauces
BUXTON
Price: £1.60 (5)
Portion size: Poor for the price (3)
Range of condiments: Not so much for free, but good extras: (6)
Crispness: Lacking (4)
Total: 18
Pretty poor from Buxton, ones at New Mills were not that good, must be something about the Peak District

NEW MILLS
Price: 10
Portion Size: Average 6
Condiments: 7
Crispness: 4
Total: 27
Very good price wise and good to see gravy as an option, but these chips were not the best, suffered from being kept warm rather than being freshly cooked. Peas or gravy for extra, or basic sauce range.

LEIGHTON TOWN
Price: £1 (10)
Portion Size: Average (7)
Range of condiments: Not the best, but cheese for 20p extra (6)
Crispness: Freshly cooked (9)
TOTAL: 32
Like AFC Dunstable the previous week, these chips were good, although the portion was not as generous. They had a slightly better range of sauces, but still not brilliant, cheese was 20p extra

AFC DUNSTABLE
Price: £1 (10)
Portion Size: Great for the price (9)
Range of condiments: Very basic (4)
Crispness: Excellent (9)
Total: 31
A really great portion of chips at a bargain price here by Dunstable, generous portion too. But the thing that let them down were the choice of condiments, only salt. vinegar and tomato sauce. They were called Barry’s Fries and were part of a very attractive sounding menu named after former players including the (George) Besty burger.

BILLERICAY TOWN FC
Price: £1.50 (6)
Portion size (7)
Range of Condiments (7)
Crispness (8)
Total: 28
THE BEST CHIPS IN THE WORLD claimed the notice on the tea bar hatch, and although I have had better, they were decent. The fact that they were served in a cone made them hard to put down which is a bit of a pain. Although there were no extras like gravy or curry sauce, there was a better than usual range of ‘free’ sauces including BBQ and Chilli. They were fairly freshly cooked and reasonably crispy too

Anonymous asked: FAO: Hall of Shame. The North West Counties Football League is a vertiable chip desert! Not a single chip to be had at Daisy Hill, Irlam, Atherton Collieries, Nelson, Chadderton or Formby
This has been noted, and will be tallied! COME ON NWCFL!
SELBY TOWN
Price: £1.30 - 8
Portion size: 7
Range of condiments: 8
Crispness: 4
Comments:
A fairly workmanlike range of condiments - salt, vinegar, red and brown sauces - is boldly enlivened by mint sauce. It’s actually alright on the chips and obviously wins kudos for originality. But when put on the Robins’ superb mushy peas the mint sauce plays a blinder, a geniune gastronomic discovery that I’ll be emulating at home from now on. A decent sized snacky portion for the price, and the peas make it a proper fill up for the more ravenous spectator. However in their eagerness to please the staff take them out of the fryer too soon, so only 20% have a decent brown crunch to them.
